Course Description

MacBook logic boards and repair methods differ enough from conventional Windows laptops that this is a separate specialisation. Over 12 weeks you learn MacBook architecture (MacBook Air and Pro, Intel and Apple Silicon), safe disassembly with the right tools and ESD protection, the USB-C power and charging system, logic board architecture and power rails, EFI firmware and recovery, display and backlight circuits, keyboard and trackpad repair, micro-soldering under a microscope, and storage and data recovery fundamentals. The last weeks move into advanced fault diagnosis, real MacBook repair cases and a final practical covering diagnosis, board-level testing with schematics and boardview, component replacement, macOS troubleshooting, reassembly and quality control. Classes hold on Mondays and Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm. You finish with an IMT Computers certificate of completion.
