Why Practical, Hands-On IT Training Matters More Than Ever

The technology job market increasingly favors candidates who can demonstrate real, applied skills — not just theoretical knowledge. If you're researching an information technology course in Lagos, this is the single biggest factor to filter for.

The Problem With Theory-Only IT Training

Many IT training programs teach concepts in a classroom and stop there — no equipment, no real projects, no debugging real code under pressure. Graduates leave able to describe how something works, but not necessarily able to do it. That gap shows up immediately in job interviews and on the job itself.

What Hands-On Training Looks Like at IMT Computers

Every course at IMT Computers is built around hands-on labs, real equipment, and project-based assignments — whether students are learning to code, splicing fiber optic cable, or repairing a laptop motherboard.

• Web development students build and deploy real applications, not just static exercises

• Fiber optics students practice fusion splicing and OTDR testing on industry-standard equipment

• Every program ends with something you can show, not just a certificate you can describe
