Session Overview

The CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) training returns to our Ikeja, Lagos facility from September 10 to 12, 2026. Over three intensive, hands-on days, participants work directly with fusion splicers, OTDRs, optical power meters, and live fiber cable to build the practical skills the FOA's foundational certification actually tests — not just theory.

As an FOA-Accredited Training and Certification Center (Accreditation No. #718), IMT Computers issues a certification recognized internationally, backed by over 20 years of hands-on technology training experience. Seats are limited to keep the instructor-to-student ratio practical, so early registration is recommended.

What Participants Will Learn

Understand the history, principles and operation of fiber optic technology

Terminate a variety of fiber optic connectors (ST, LC, FC/SC, MT/RJ)

Perform fusion splicing and mechanical splicing

Prepare cable for fusion and assemble splice enclosures

Test and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and systems using an OTDR

Apply fiber optics networking standards and connector/cable identification

Work with outside plant (OSP) cabling — introduction, preparation, termination and testing

Design and install fiber cabling systems

Use basic OTDR functions for fault tracing and documentation
